Machine learning for Causal Inference –Course taught at CERE by Katya Vasilaky and Eduardo Zambrano of Cal Poly

From September 11^th to 15^th, 2023, Associate Professor Katya Vasilaky and Professor Eduardo Zambrano –both at Orfalea College of Businesst, Cal Poly— visited Umeå to teach Machine Learning for Causal Inference –a course attended by both students and faculty of CERE.

In addition to this intensive course, Katya and Eduardo assisted our students on how machine learning can be incorporated into their ongoing research projects. They also explored synergies with faculty.

During this week, we at CERE not only learned how Machine Learning is a tool to make causal inference but also enjoyed the amicable and accessible teaching and conversation approach of both Katya and Eduardo.

We hope that their visit becomes a recurring event!
